Mother Nature decides when little corners of the desert are painted purple and gold with abundant flowers, and it doesn’t happen every year. The Wildflower Walk is limited to when that bloom happens, and it’s happening now! Join a small group (maximum 6 people) for an extremely special guided hike in the backcountry to get up close and personal with as many of these flowers as possible.
This event is designed to be easy, 3 miles with a gentle decline/incline over 3 hours, pausing frequently to hydrate, look around, and discuss what we find along the way.
Identify and learn about 30+ species of flowers
Avoid crowds and visit a place even most locals don’t know
Learn how to responsibly travel in the backcountry to protect future wildflower blooms.
Have the best possible chance to spot birds, lizards, butterflies and other critters as they forage the flower buffet
Enjoy views of millions of flowers and visually stunning geology
Relax in the desert backcountry because your guide knows where you are going
You should bring:
sun protection (there is almost zero shade on this hike)
Hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, long sleeves, umbrella
32oz water or more
a snack
a daypack
sturdy comfortable shoes
